Our salmon runs start in early May with the returns of our large breeder Kings (Chinooks). These are the largest of our salmon and can weigh over 40 lbs. The Pink or "Humpy" Salmon start showing up in late June, these are the smallest of our salmon, 3 to 6 lbs, but are real fighters if caught on ultra light gear.  Along with the Pinks, the Chum or "Dog" Salmon start to make their appearance.  The Dog Salmon can be one of the toughest salmon to land and are excellent for the smoker or BBQ. In the middle of July our Coho or "Silver" Salmon start their runs.  These salmon are surface fighters, making magnificent jumps when hooked and are some of the best eating salmon. Halibut and Alaskan Red Snapper are some of the best tasting fish that can be found. Halibut fishing can be hard work but landing one of these 30 to over 200 lbs monsters is well worth the effort. For best luck halibut fishing should be done during our smaller tides.   Red Snapper, Rockfish and the occasional Lingcod are found in great abundance on deep water rocky crags and ridges all season long.
